Once upon a time...

There was a girl, age 23 who lived in Anchorage

in a very small apartment.

She worked for the daily newspaper.

She had recently made a vow to never give another military boy the time of day.

At the same time, across town, there lived an army boy, age 22

who was a surfer from California

turned Helicopter Crew Chief.

He was very cute and charming.

One evening,

the evening of October 15, 1988

in a bar named Yesterdays on Dimond Boulevard

the boy and girl met

and their lives were changed forever.

because they fell in love.

They couldn't help themselves...

they wanted to be together forever and ever

so they got married

on the fly

in the living room of their new apartment.

with three friends.

and a preacher from Spenard present.

On February 24, 1989.

SO sweet. I knew that young gal... she was feisty, opinionated, had a wry smile and was a wee bit cynical. So glad you met that boy. xoxo Mindy
