Seeing the Sights

As I mentioned a few posts ago - we have company! A houseful, in fact. E-Dude (our oldest child) is in town as well as Husband's parents.

We headed to Bruges the other day and had a fabulous time. On this visit, we took a boat trip around the canals (highly recommended and worth the 6 euro), visited the Basilica of the Holy Blood, shopped, ate lunch, walked and made ourselves sick on chocolate. My kind of a day!

In fact, Husband and I were so enchanted with having all our family around us that it turns out most of the pictures were of our people and not so much of lovely Bruges... oh well. We hammed it up for you to make the pictures more interesting.

We have been day-traveling quite a bit - been to Mons, Chievres and SHAPE of course. Also to Doutrepont Chocolatier on rue d'Ath nearby. We also spent a day going up to the American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.

On the same day as the trip to Margraten, we drove up to the North Sea in Holland. My father-in-law is trying to achieve his lifelong goal of washing his hands in every large body of water in the world. Here he is at the North Sea!

Also - a trip to France to visit the Matisse museum in the birthplace of the artist - Le Cateau-Cambr├ęsis Casteau. Really pretty close - only took about an hour to get there.

Still to come - Paris and Amsterdam (where I've never been!)...

It's salve to my soul to see all you Millsies together.

While you're together as a family unit, be sure to rent "Fred" for uber-dumbness. It's dorkdom I haven't seen since Pee Wee Herman, and highly quotable.

I miss Carol, give her a squeeze. Tell Patrick happy birthday. Did he get my card? I mailed it approx. on his birthday so it's late but should be there soon.

You guys look great. What an adventure.

Miss you, miss you, miss you.

P.S. Got a new kitty!
