Do you want to know how I've lost all this weight? It's really a complicated story that has more to do with my thinking than with anything else. We'll go to the shrink chair some other day .

But now I want to share an important key to success for me...

You're probably going to think it's silly.

It's really rather simple.

But in my quest to lose the weight and keep it off I've been ruminating a lot on my eating habits in addition to the psychological aspect of being fat.

There is a question I ask myself now.

I ask it in a social situation and sometimes when I'm alone and feeling naked without my calorie counter.

Here it is. The big question...

Is that what a skinny person would eat?

Sometimes I can look around and see for myself what skinny people eat. Just take a look at their plates. When I'm alone, I reevaluate my plate after asking myself the question. In my mind's eye, I picture someone skinny I know and think about what they would be eating.

Because, after all the goal the is to be lean and healthy, right?

Then I kiss goodbye the bread, cheese, sauce and booze and go sit my skinnier ass down to eat.

Hello there! I just found your blog and am realizing we have a lot in common! I am also from Washington State (born in Spokane, lived in Seattle) and am now in Mons. How crazy! I also started a weight loss/C25k regime a few months ago. Just thought it was funny to find another American lady doing the same thing in the same place :)

Hi Jessica! I think you are from the part of Spokane my people are from (or thereabouts). My peeps are in Newman Lake. It's a small world isn't it?

Where are you in the C25K? I'm on week 5 and (I can't believe I'm saying this) I really love it. It's a challenge but it's not killer and I feel so "athletic" saying that I run - HA!

Thanks for writing, keep in touch... Edith

Yeah I was born in the valley and lived in Otis Orchards (near Newman Lake) I went to East Valley High School. It is such a small world!

I am only on week 2 day 2. I put off starting it for awhile because I couldn't figure out where to run in this town. I am working out the kinks though. I really love it and signed up for a 6k in Paris this fall. I want to do some more races! I can't believe I am saying that too.

Glad I found your blog :)
