Someone's father, brother, son

Here was

shamefully assassinated

in August 1944

The Resistant

Lacroix, Ernest

of Soignies

We drive by this marker every day. It's at the intersection of rue de Joseph Quintart and rue de Fouly in Chaussee Notre Dame Louvignies.

Ernest Lacroix was stopped and gunned down by the Germans on August 12, 1944 for "sabotage". Lacroix was a member of The Front for Independence (the resistance). He was four days short of his 30th birthday when he was killed.
