From My-Army-Guy on June 10

Today I got to work and got my butt royally chewed on by the COL for not having this stupid photo of people using a piece of equipment that's broken. It's a long story, but I was waiting for them to fix it before taking the photo and he didn't want to wait.

So that woke me up nicely. We were waiting for a flight to the Green Zone where we had lunch with all the Baghdad media chiefs. The CG sat everyone down and talked and talked and talked and talked forever, then opened the floor to the media to ask HIM questions. The COL was like, "What the hell are we doing here SFC Mills?" I couldn't exactly say.

Anyway, after a long flight there and a long flight back (we had to travel around picking up other people all over the place) I was exhausted but I took my soldier out to the Flightline (which is about a 15 minute drive away) and we got some photos of that piece of equipment being "used" by the operators. I got back and gave those photos to the CDR but he didn't want staged shots on the ground, he wanted shots of them using it in the air.

So I'm thinking, Okay, the way we sit in the aircraft and the fact that it doesn't work anyway does not make for interesting photos. Hopefully it'll work out when we get on a flight with them.

That was my day. Lots of excitement. I definitely needed my butt to be kicked to get me in gear. It's funny, but I was in a good mood after that ass chewing.
